Ingredients
  

  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar light or dark
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl; set aside.
  3. Beat butter with sugars until light and fluffy, then add egg and vanilla; mix well.
  4. Gradually blend dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips gently.
  6. Scoop dough onto prepared sheets, bake for 10 minutes or until edges are golden.

Notes

For fluffier cookies, ensure butter is at room temperature before starting.
